Faye

Faye is a corgi we got from my father's friend because he could not take care of her anymore. Faye is basically my mother's shadow who follows her day and night. Though at night, she sleeps in the room my sister and I share. Faye is a clever dog who had already learnt how to sit and was potty trained the moment we got her and within the first few hours in our house, she learned how to lay down.       The biggest downside to Faye however is that she is very violent to other dogs especially males. She is fine with most female dogs she meets except Bella. She does however, get too excited even when we tried socializing with other dogs ever since she was small. One other thing that Faye has a problem with is shedding. Corgis have always been known to be quite a reputable shedder and I did not realize this until I experienced it for myself. The amount of fur that comes off even when you have been brushing her for the past hour is just to the point of u...

Bella

Bella may be one of the kindest dogs I will ever meet. She has never been violent towards other dogs and despite always getting bitten by Faye even when she is way bigger, she has never hurt her even once. Bella is also a bit slow and because of that I have never properly trained her but she stays still when I tell her to. Bella may look like a goat and sound like a grunting pig 24/7 but I would argue and say that is her charm. Every time we go to the vet, people would compliment Bella for being very attractive and hearing that makes me very proud. Bella has eyes the color of amber which look like it glows when under the sunlight.     We got Bella from a pet shop on my sister's birthday when we went and was expecting to come out with a hamster. I am not proud of it as I was not educated about breeding as a child.  The shop owner kept on talking about how Labradors were excellent and intelligent companions and how Bella was special because she was...

My Best Friends

Image
Growing up, I have always had best friends by my side ever since the moment I was born. Their names were Chester and Bobo, a golden retriever and a chow-chow. My childhood memories consisted of walking them around the neighborhood along with another dog called Lv, a Yorkshire terrier my parents got for my sister and I in 2008.       Where I come from, dogs are not very welcome as it is a country where the majority of people are Muslim. I would just hope that one day, dogs would not be treated as vicious monsters that will bite anyone in plain sight. Although Chester and Bobo have left my side, Bella and Faye are now a part of the family. Bella is an 8 year old Labrador retriever while Faye is a 2 year old corgi. Below is a picture of Bella shaking her head after I blew into her ear and Faye at the edge of my bed right after she woke up.     I do not think my life would be complete without dogs. Dogs have always been there, wagg...
